In this exploratory piece, artists Benjamin Steer and Matthew Turk of the Schneed Collective inadvertently actualised a visual representation of societal disparity. Cracked and defeated, the highlighter bled its essence upon the canvas. As the fluorescent wave ebbed and flowed, they considered how much of the space this singular entity was able to dominate.
In this artistic narrative, the tyrannical expansion of the central mass pressed the free space of the people to its limits against the boundaries. An outline was drawn between the two ideals, in a vain attempt to curb the overwhelming pressure. This neutral territory was sealed with the addition of a second outline, providing a space where free thinkers are allowed to exist.
“The 2% hold 50% of the world’s freedom - as freedom is wealth, and wealth is wealth.”
~ Matthew Turk of the Schneed Collective
